dsc_7832This year’s BISHTA conference took place on Tuesday 4th October at the BSPF Offices in Andover. With an exciting, educational and varied day of content supported by a host of guest speakers.

The day started with the BISHTA and BSPF review presented by BISHTA’s Managing Director, Chris Hayes. Chris outlined the work that has been carried out by BISHTA and the BSPF over the past year.

The review was followed by BISHTA’s Chairman – Alex Kemsley who presided over the AGM.

Promoting your company – Sallie Golding (BSPF PR & Marketing Manager)


Sallie Golding

Sallie joined the BSPF, BISHTA and SPATA in September 2013, with two core tasks; to drive consumer and trade awareness on a national level and to implement a digital strategy for the association’s encompassing redevelopment of the BISHTA and SPATA websites.  Sallie has over 16 years of consumer and commercial PR & Marketing experience, initially specialising in retail franchising & photographic studio marketing. Her knowledge and grounding within the retail sector, combined with her creative training and business experience make Sallie an excellent all-rounder in her field, with a great understanding of what marketing works for businesses.

Knowing the Consumer Rights Act – Adam Chambers (Hampshire Country Council Trading Standards)


Adam Chambers

Employed 18 years in Trading Standards. Worked across many disciplines from Animal health and Welfare (chasing cows and sheep) to Fair Trading enforcement work (chasing dodgy plumbers and rogue traders), including 8 years developing the ‘Buy with Confidence’ approved trader scheme. Currently involved in product safety work and border control market surveillance chasing dodgy importers. Keen advocate of practical consumer advice to the business sector particularly through the Primary Authority Partnership. Always available to talk to!

Krissy Simmons

Krissy joined ACAS in 1997 and has worked through many pivotal roles in the organisation including providing advice on the helpline. Having managed staff for over 22 years, from admin teams to self-employed builders, ex-service personal and senior managers, Krissy has a wealth of knowledge in all employment matters – from helping the smaller employer with only one staff member to the multi-national employers, Krissy is able to effectively tailor options and solutions in a constantly changing workplace.

Howard Gosling

Howard is an industry stalwart and has many high profile roles within the pool and spa industry.  He is an independent consultant who is also BISHTA’s Technical Advisor.  In addition to other roles within the wider BSPF family, he is also a Director of PWTAG and is also on ISPE’s Council.
