Enjoy summer this year in a hot tub or swim spa

Hot Tub Time Machine, the latest hit comedy starring John Cusack, hit cinema screens across the UK on 7 May. To celebrate, BISHTA (The British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association), wants to highlight the benefits of owning a hot tub or swim spa.

Unlike Hot Tub Time Machine, we can’t promise you time travelling as one of the many advantages of using a hot tub, instead, here’s what we can promise…..

Stress relief

If you‘ve had a stressful day there is no better way to relax than chilling in a hot tub with the water jets helping to relieve muscle tension.

Because of the relaxing nature of hot tubs, they also reduce high blood pressure and headaches caused by stress.

Pain relief

Being in water is a great way to take pressure off and relieve painful joints and muscles. The water reduces body weight by approximately 90% giving just the right amount of resistance.
The heat from the hot tub also warms up joints and muscles to keep them supple and flexible.

A great muscle relaxer after exercise

Hot tubs are a great way to relieve muscles after exercise. The water and heat accelerates the release of endorphins in the body.

A great way to socialise

Sitting in a hot tub and splashing around with friends is a great way to spend evenings and weekends.

Swim spas are also a great way to encourage children to be active and gain confidence in the water.

BISHTA recommends that consumers buy their hot tub from an accredited BISHTA member, who is able to give detailed advice about the use of water treatment products and the upkeep of the hot tub, as well as provide peace of mind that they are buying from a reputable supplier

BISHTA is the trade association for hot tubs and spas which ensure contractors and suppliers meet industry standards to make usage safe.
