1. Presidents Weekend – Update
We currently have 90 people booked to attend the Black Tie Dinner and Dance on the Saturday evening of Tony
Welsby’s Presidents Weekend, which takes place from the 1st – 3rd October in Blackpool.

2. Taxation – Online Scams and Security
The Federation of Small Business’s has recently alerted us to a new taxation scam that is currently in operation.
An email from ‘HMRC Online Services test@test.com telling recipients to log into their online account to read a
new alert message is in fact not from HMRC but linked to a fraudulent website requesting personal account
information and passwords.
In addition to this, a company with no links to HMRC is using emails to advertise services claiming it can obtain
NIC rebates – usually at a fee. With more and more people handling their tax affairs online, HMRC would like to
remind you of the importance of protecting your log-in details and password.

3. Notification Of Changes To PAYE - Reminder
Small employers with fewer than 50 staff should have already filed their Employer Annual returns for this year
online by the 19th May deadline as penalties could be incurred. Further help is available from an HMRC CD-ROM,
which has been sent to all employers. For those people who are experiencing difficulties should call HMRC’s
Business Payment Support Service on 0845 3021435.
4. Traditional Homes Magazine – Feature
We are currently finalising the latest articles to be featured in the June edition of Traditional Homes and Gardens.
5. Hot Tub Time Machine Film – Potential Advertising
One of our BISHTA members has recently informed us that by contacting their local cinema, they were able to
display one of their Hot Tubs in the cinema foyer for free! If your local cinema is still showing this film, it may be
worth asking if they would also let you do this.
6. BISHTA Standards 2010
Members who have not already collected their Standards at the recent BISHTA Road Shows should receive their
copy by post at the beginning of next week. Please make sure that you read through the document.
7. SPATEX 2011 – Stand Plans Are Now Open
Stands for the show are now available from £1,056.00 plus VAT. To book your stand for SPATEX 2011 5th – 7th February,
